Twenty-five years ago, "Papa" John Schnatter sold his beloved '71 Z28 Camaro to fund his other passion: delivering a superior-quality pizza to residents in his hometown of Jeffersonville, IN (near Louisville, KY).

Now, as Papa John's celebrates its 25th Anniversary in 2009, John's two loves - his Camaro and delivering Better Ingredients, Better Pizza - have been reunited.

This summer, Papa John took to the open road behind the wheel of a ’71 Z28 Camaro, an homage to the beloved car he sold more than 25 years ago to get his business off the ground. In addition to meeting with his legion of team members and loyal customers, Papa John was able to tell his story of how he’s living and breathing the American Dream. Papa John has since been reunited with his original Camaro and gave the owner $250,000 to get back the car that started it all.
